what is the purpose of contribution?

i want to know, why do most global xp guilds force you to grind contribution? the only purpose that i know of for contribution is the guild being higher up on the list, are there any purposes for contribution other than that?

It increases your fame idk its just only leaderboards :/ that doesn't do anything to you

it makes ppl grind for guild, without contribution it means no one is grinding to share for the whole guild. sharing xp is like the main point of having a guild.
