So I believe for most people this is fine, but for people with low RAM, it could be particularly helpful. Maybe you could add something in the settings to turn particles/effects lower or off? this may effect the gameplay, but it would be awesome for the people with computers on the lower end. Thanks!

I went ahead and added it in so that the enemy death particles (as well as enemy death sound) no longer play when the quality is set to "low". (this change will be in this week's update.)
