Some ways to increase stats besides leveling.

Title pretty much says it all, I don't really know what the best way to do this would be, but I believe as long as the points are not trade-able and the methods to obtain them do not require a lot of money/emeralds, it will not turn into p2w, so heres a couple of ideas i thought of as a possibility:
-Receiving points for level and kill milestones (Hit level 10 receive a onetime reward of 3 points in addition to the normal 3 from leveling, Hit 5k mob kills receive a onetime reward of 5 points, and so on)
-Receiving points from quests (Special holiday quests along with normal quests which could reset daily, weekly, and monthly and give different amount of points based on the quest, example: daily gives 1 point, weekly gives 5, monthly gives 10)
-Special events *Not anywhere as OP as in HH* (Increased xp, increased damage, giving 5 points per level instead of 3, etc)
The basic explanation for this is basically because growing your stats is a fun part of the game for many, and as of right now the only way to do that is by leveling (which gets very tedious). This will also allow for more customization to players (hybrid classes, allows for skills to be used more)
The main reason i believe this is needed is because of the new damage formula. With the new damage formula, it decreased the amount of xp each monster gives, while at the same time make it MUCH harder to kill them. Personally i think the new damage formula would be great, if there was a way to increase your stats besides only getting 3 points from leveling, because now leveling is even harder than it was previously. I think leveling should be aimed more towards unlocking gear, and upgrading stats should majorly come from other parts of the game, and not have basically the entire game revolve around leveling as the only way to progress in any way. (Similar to HH, however without the p2w part, which is why I didn't suggest being able to buy them, although there needs to be a better use for money as well, but thats a different topic)
