Separate music & sounds

Post by CrazyVanilla » Sat Jul 25, 2020 6:40 pm

Personally I hate listening to the music but I like having the sounds effects for picking up items/gold. Would be nice to be able to disable the music and keep the sounds, and vice versa, instead of only having the option for all audio, or none.

the problem is that when he does the mute sound thing, it mutes the entire sound, meaning the sound effects too. now im not really sure how he loads his music in the diffrent areas but if he is thinking what im thinking he might be able to do it.

I don't see how the music is bad; in fact, I like how atmospheric and catchy it feels. Like, look at the Banjo-Kazooie-ish track for Marty's cabin and Brip's Store; it's one of my favorites. That and the swamp music gives off a nice Pokemon Mystery Dungeon GBA vibe.

I do think its a little weird to have both music and sound turned off with one single setting. Every game that has sound and music put their settings separately. Heck, even Kirby's Air Ride did it, and it has this silly balance gimmick where you either can have less music and more sound, or more music and less sounnd.

Its not that the music is bad, its that i would rather listen to my own music while grinding instead of the game music, but I like having the sound effects for grinding, specifically for picking up coins and loot, especially in areas where it is hard to see them such as in water or behind something.

I thought about this for a long time, but thought since no one else has a problem with this, it doesn't matter. Nice to see others think the same! Having separate mute options for music/sounds would make the game much better IMO

Ok, thanks for the feedback everyone. It looks like enough players want this, so I've got it added in for tomorrow's update. So tomorrow you will be able to set the music off and leave the sound effects on.
