HP Bar for mobs
Re: HP Bar for mobs
While we are at it, exp showing up when you kill an enemy would also be nice.
Re: HP Bar for mobs
Hmm, if we get enough support for the HP bars, I'll add them in. One thing I did want to focus on for this game, was not having too much text/UI in the game environment. I feel like lots of MMOs do that, and I've never been particularly fond of it as I feel it takes away from the ambience of the game and clutters things a bit. That's why so far, I've chosen not to show player names below players. However, quickly showing an HP bar only when the enemy is attacked, and then removing it after several seconds of not being attacked probably wouldn't be too bad.
As for the XP text when an enemy is killed, that goes along the same lines, but also wouldn't be too bad since it'd quickly fade away. I'll probably add the XP text in soon, as it does add to the feeling of satisfaction when killing an enemy.

Eh, you could always make an option for players that want to turn HP bars off. I do have an idea though, instead of HP bars, right next to the damage text, it will show the enemy HP left. For Example: 1000 [750]. The 1000 is how much damage you did and the [750] is the health left on the enemy. This also can be something the player can turn on or off.
