Other fix is to make it use x% of mana per second instead of a static number.
Also make that the mana does not regenerate while the skill is active.
(That is basically the same than cooldown, but a little more of a punishment for overusing it, as it depletes your mana).

I think part of this problem is that there aren't enough monsters yet, since the game is still always being worked on. I'd say the current top monster, the beatles, were designed for players around level 40 or so. So after that, you will be out of new challenging monsters at the moment. So just han...
